Genesis 6:18 “I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark.”—In the days of Noah wickedness was everywhere, but The LORD called out to Noah. He offered him safety from the coming flood. He commanded Noah to build an ark. A large boat for he and his family, and there they would be safe.

At Calvary Chapel Whidbey Island our mission is to be a hospital, harbor, and a home. The Ark functions as a hospital, not for broken bones or bad eyes, but for the broken, and spiritually blind. Mark 2:17 "On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”" The Ark provides a means of grace to those struggling with addiction. It provides shelter from the storm, separation from the opportunities to use the substances that are ruining lives. Ultimately through a relationship with Jesus Christ there is lasting freedom from the bondage of sin. The Ark gives the student an opportunity to enter more fully into that relationship.

From there The Ark focuses on discipling men, through biblical training and teaching, a structured schedule, and community. Are you or someone you know tired of being in bondage, bound to drugs or alcohol or some other life controlling vice? Jesus says in Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
