See & Serve

One of the chief characteristics of the Body of Christ is that we are one.  The Bible communicates this in many ways throughout the pages of scripture. One very clear way is found in the early chapters of the Book of Acts.  Fresh off the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the Church is born! God's community of believers grew and grew.

In Acts chapter 6 Luke records a moment where they began to expand their infrastructure for meeting the needs of the people, “In those days when the number of disciples was increasing, the Hellenistic Jews among them complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food. So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, “It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables. Brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word”

As the Lord continues to move and grow our family here at Calvary Chapel Whidbey Island we too have a desire to make sure we are doing all we can to meet needs within our community. There is a dedicated group of servants here that God has equipped for this great purpose.

Some of the needs we hope to meet are:

Requests for Prayer
Financial Assistance
Meals for Those In Need
Help Around the House
Transportation
Training in Stewardship
Counseling/Discipleship
